Roxana Suárez was immersed in tango even before she was born, as her mother transmitted tango to her during pregnancy. Her childhood unfolded in her grandmother’s milonga, where she grew up observing the great masters of the genre. That unique environment shaped her artistic path.

She began her professional career in February 2007 and has since demonstrated an unwavering commitment to continuous learning and artistic evolution.

In her early years, Roxana balanced long hours of rehearsal with teaching at prestigious studios in Buenos Aires and performing in the city’s traditional milongas. Her talent and authenticity soon caught international attention, leading her to share her deep knowledge and experience at renowned tango festivals around the world.

Throughout her career, Roxana has danced with some of the most respected names in tango. Her performances with artists such as Mariano “Chicho” Frúmboli, Javier Rodríguez, Carlos Espinoza, and Facundo Piñero have been widely admired and celebrated. Since 2010, she has been a member of companies such as Tango+Tango and has been invited as a guest artist in acclaimed stage productions in Buenos Aires’ renowned Corrientes Avenue theaters.

Her prestige and expertise have also led her to serve as a judge in numerous international tango competitions, including the final round of the Buenos Aires World Tango Championship — the most prestigious event of its kind worldwide. Her role in this capacity reflects not only her mastery of the art but also the deep respect and admiration she commands within the global tango community.

Roxana last participated in Tango Frostbite in 2020. We are excited to welcome her back to Helsinki in February 2026!

At the 2026 festival, Roxana will be teaching and performing together with Dario da Silva.
