We still recall Maria Belén’s mesmerizing performances from the very first Tango Frostbite festivals in 2011-2013, while Sebastián, the 2010 Tango Salon champion at the Mundial de Tango, will be making his debut visit to Finland.
María Belén Giachello is an Argentine tango dancer, singer, and teacher with an impressive international reputation. Born in Argentina, she began dancing at the age of 9, first exploring Argentine folklore before immersing herself in tango. With over 30 years of experience, she is known for her passionate, creative, and joyful expression of dance.
Throughout her career, she has traveled worldwide, performing and teaching tango, and collaborating with renowned artists such as Sebastián Jimenez and Gustavo Gomez. She also performed and taught in the first 3 editions of Tango Frostbite with her long-time dance partner Diego “El Pajaro” Riemer. Her tango style blends traditional salon and stage elements, and she emphasizes the intimate connection between partners and the music in her teaching.
In addition to dancing, Giachello is also a singer. She released her first album Destino Sur in 2004 and has continued to perform musically, often combining her love for tango music with her dance performances. She has performed with several orchestras, including Hyperion and the Tango Sonos Quartet.
Currently based in Toulouse, France, she continues to perform, teach workshops, and participate in tango festivals across Europe and beyond.
